Paz y Desarrollo (Peace and Development) is a Spanish-based Non Governmental Organization working to promote the development of the world’s vulnerable countries through international cooperation.

Paz y Desarrollo (Peace and Development) is a Spanish Non Governmental Organization, created in 1991, working towards the improvement of the living conditions of the communities in the most vulnerable countries.

Currently working in more than 16 countries spanning 3 continents, PYD aims at fostering economic and social changes through four main strategies:

Under the Special Action Plan for Cambodia 2006-2008, the Government of Spain aims to expand and strengthen development cooperation activities with the Royal government of Cambodia and civil society organizations. With this purpose, the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) signed in 2007 a cooperation agreement with Paz Y Desarrollo regarding the implementation of four-year gender’s program ¨ to improve opportunities and to encourage Cambodian women’s role in social, political and economic areas” The present intervention is the first action executed by Paz y Desarrollo in Cambodia, registered at Council for development of Cambodia with the project ID 90109666
